Sears is on the decline. I just figured it was their failure to keep up with the times. I now think it's due to their horrible customer service. Today I tried to use two different company credit cards and my personal card to purchase some craftsman tools for work. I called to check the balance on both cards both had more than enough to purchase my items but both were declined. They said my first card wouldn't read. So I asked the cashier to manually input my card info which she refused to do. I asked to speak to a manager not only was she not helpful she was down right rude for lack of a better term. She claims that they can't manually input a card for fraud concerns but after three different cards all three of which I have used today. The manager said she wouldn't do anything and was down right rude about it. The moral of the story is I'll be buying Kobalt or S&K tools from now on until Craftsman can find a better vendor.

Bought an electric stove brand new on August 29th, 3 electricians later and i convinced them it was defective. I traded it in for a gas stove since that's what the wife wanted anyway. Get it home and hooked up, immediately we smelled gas. Gas company came out and said the stone was at fault. I called Sears again to speak with a manager to address the situation and she acted like I just didn't hook it up right and I was just an inconvenience she didn't want to deal with. Then proceeded to tell me the only resolution she had was to take my business to lowes! Spent a week trying to fix it to no avail. After convincing them to send out a service tech he said the stove had a faulty valve. So I call in and get a different, slightly less rude manager who tells me I have to wait till September 25th for it to be repaired and I can't exchange it, even though their warranty says I can within the first 30 days. After arguing with them they hang up and now refuse to speak to me!!! On top of all that you can YouTube search one of Joplin managers assaulting a customer. Needless to say I won't ever buy a single thing from them again, and I'd advise you didnt either.

I worked at Sears for a year while in college. I know they are failing. However, it does not excuse there poor customer service. It was an overall terrible experience and I can officially say that I will never go back again. I I have never shopped anywhere else for tools in my life. Quite frankly, I don't even know where to go other than the auto parts store.
